~ CALENDAR AND TUITION ~
CLASS SCHEDULE AND ANNUAL CALENDAR
Private lessons operate on a three-weeks-on-one-week-off lesson schedule. Like most private music studios, this program offers year round instruction. Each student annually receives a minimum of 33 weeks of instruction. Students will usually (see BILLING POLICIES section below) have three (3) individual lessons each month. Your lesson times will be worked out with Miss Anna.
(You can find the available studio schedules at the end of the Parent's Page under "Studio Resources")
TUITION
Beginner (book 1, recommended) - 20-30 minute individual lessons: $100 per month
Intermediate (book 2-3, recommended) - 30-40 minute individual lessons: $130 per month
Advanced (book 4+, recommended) - 40-50 minute individual lessons: $160 per month
(We do not have family plans at this time. Since each student gets the same quality of instruction and quantity of lesson time, we charge by the time reserved for each student and not the quantity of related participants involved.)
LESSON LOCATION & TRAVEL LOGISTICS
For lesson participation at a mutual location or by virtual platforms, there will be no extra travel fees.
Preferably in-person lessons will take place at a mutual location.
But upon the request that your instructor travel to your home address for conducting lessons with you and/or your children, there will be a $2 charge per mile based on the shortest GPS travel calculations one way from my home to your home. This additional cost will be added into your monthly tuition maxing out at three trips per month. (Whenever there is a forth one, it is always free :)
The reason for this is two-fold:
1) The time spent for the instructor to drive from one location to another is valuable time that could be used for another lesson.
2) Concentration and mental/physical discipline is more easily attained both by the student as well as the parent supporting the student if the location and time frame for in-person lessons is set at a location away from the home atmosphere for the purpose of focused learning. This has been discovered by experience. But if it is worth having in your own home, than with the above arrangements, this is definitely workable.
PAYMENT METHOD
Tuition is due on the first weekend of each month. We have a variety of options for accepted payment:
cash, check for local students, or PayPal, Venmo for virtual students.
Make checks payable to Anna Linzey. Note on the check which month the payment is for.
Details for your preferred payment method will be provided in accordance with your lesson plan.
BILLING POLICIES
Unless a student withdraws from the studio program completely, a student will be charged for tuition every month, regardless of the amount of participation. The tuition remains the same regardless of the number of lessons received in a given month. Given the three-on-one-off schedule, students may have four lessons instead of three in those months with five weeks. Tuition remains the same. No additional lesson fees apply. Conversely but less frequently, in certain months (months with major holidays, for example) students may have less than three private and/or group lessons in a calendar month. Again, monthly tuition remains the same regardless of the number of lessons received in a given month. A late fee ($6 per student per month overdue) will be charged of any family that does not pay the expected amount by the first weekend of each month.
Lessons will be discontinued if tuition is two months overdue.
Lessons will resume once the balance has been paid in full.
~ CANCELLATION POLICIES ~
Cancellation by the student
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
An individual lesson missed or canceled at any time by the student for any reason will not be made up, nor will tuition be refunded. Additionally, it is not the instructor's responsibility to remind the student of their lesson times, including virtual students.
However, students who miss a lesson may pursue the following options:
-Trade lessons times with another student,
-Call your teacher and declare the week as one of your three annual student holidays,
if you have not already spent all three.
-Call your teacher if you cannot succeed with the above options. The teacher will add your name to a list of his/her students who have missed lessons. When another student misses a subsequent appointment, your teacher may call students from the list to offer the time. There is no guarantee of an opportunity for a make-up lesson.
Cancellation by the teacher
Lessons missed or canceled at any time by the teacher for any reason will be made-up in a timely manner.
~ LINES OF COMMUNICATION ~
I wish to efficiently answer your questions in a timely and efficient manner. To direct your inquiry most efficiently please use the following guidelines:
Person to contact
While enrolled in this studio, Miss Anna is your primary personal instructor.
While you or your child may occasionally receive occasional instruction from other teachers,
your personal instructor through this program functions as your primary provider of individual music assistance. Communicate with her if:
...you have questions about HOW or WHAT to practice at home
...you have concerns related to your private lessons
...you need advice in choosing or maintaining an instrument or other materials
...you must cancel a lesson (see guidelines above)
...you and another student have decided to permanently trade lesson times
...you have questions about charges on your student account
...you have any scheduling question, period
...you would like information about anything mentioned in this website
Means of Contact
Following are several means of contact in descending order of preference
PERSONAL CONTACT
Whenever possible, inquiries should be directed to your individual instructor during regularly scheduled sessions such as private lessons, or parent meetings. If a parent desires a private conversation with his/her private-lesson teacher, the parent should ask the child to wait inside the classroom while the teacher and parent step into the hallway to talk for a few minutes.
E-MAIL or MESSAGING
Although you may not receive an immediate response, text or e-mail permits you to contact your instructor without interrupting the lesson schedule. For non-urgent matters, please text/message me, or use e-mail. All participating families must have access to e-mail, since almost all important studio information will be transmitted this way.
TELEPHONE
If you do not succeed with the above methods, please feel free to place a phone call, maintaining your sensitivity to the time constraints of the person receiving the phone call.
Your enrollment and continuation in this studio signifies acceptance of the above policies.
Continuing families should take the time to review these policies at least once a year.
